Remember when I tried selling to everyone? Big mistake. My business completely changed when I got crystal clear on exactly who I wanted to work with. Here’s a quick guide to finding your perfect client and understanding your ideal client avatar.
This is the beginning of our strategy for Digital Ecosystem Creation.
Start With Who You Actually Want to Work With: the Favourite!
Think about your favorite client right now. What makes them amazing to work with? For me, it was the ambitious female entrepreneur who already had some success but was ready to scale through automation. She valued time freedom over cutting on costs and wasn’t afraid to invest in her business.
Get Specific About Their Pain Points: Ideal Client
When finding your perfect client… you need to be specific. Your ideal client isn’t just browsing the internet for fun. They’re searching for solutions to specific problems.
Ask yourself:
- What keeps them up at midnight?
- What are they complaining about to their friends?
- What have they already tried that didn’t work?
Understand Their Goals and Dreams: Signature Client
What does success look like to them? Maybe it’s having a business that runs smoothly while they travel, or finally having time for that morning routine they keep posting about. Get clear on what they really want.
Know Where They Hang Out
My ideal clients weren’t hanging out in Facebook groups comparing prices… they were on Pinterest looking for inspiration and LinkedIn seeking strategic connections. Understanding where your avatar spends their time helps you show up in the right places.
Map Out Your Preferred Client Journey
Think about:
- Where are they starting from?
- What’s stopping them from reaching their goals?
- What solutions have they already tried?
- Why haven’t those solutions worked?
Quick Action Steps
- Write down your ideal client’s demographics (age, income, occupation)
- List their top 3 pain points
- Identify their biggest goal
- Find their favorite social media platform
- Write one paragraph as if you’re describing your favourite client to a friend
The clearer you get about finding your perfect client and who you’re talking to, the easier everything else becomes… your marketing, your offerings, even your content creation. Stop trying to speak to everyone, and start connecting deeply with the people you’re meant to serve.
